DETAILS:

EXACT drop off / collection locations will be confirmed 2 weeks prior to our run - usually they are at BP Service Centres during one of our fuel/rest stops. It is important that when you're pre-ordering your packages that you provide your mobile number, as we provide text message updates while we're travelling to each of our drop off locations to keep you appraised of our progress and estimated time of arrival.

Packages are typically cheaper than Nucs, available earlier in the season -> BUT they WILL need to be fed sugar syrup in the first couple of weeks to allow them to build up quickly (draw out comb). Be sure to have a hive feeder ready before you collect your package, they can go through up to 10L of syrup in a week!

This is a more cost effective option if you're looking to quickly increase the number of colonies you manage and also a fantastic way to quickly replace any colonies lost overwinter!

Suitable for any Hive Including the Flow Hive Package bees are ideal if you're installing bees into Top Bar or Warre style hives.

WE WILL REQUIRE YOUR BEEKEEPER REGISTRATION NUMBER PRIOR TO COLLECTION.

For new Beekeepers, please read the Australian Honeybee Industry Biosecurity Code of Practice: https://honeybee.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07... as this will outline your responsibilities...

Beekeeper Registration links for each state:

VIC / NSW / QLD / SA / ACT

If you don't already have a beekeeper registration number with your state Department of Primary Industries, please register with your state as soon as possible.

See video on two methods on how to install package bees:

Video Disclaimer - we recommend that you wear protective clothing when working with bees!

Queens in cages already come with a candy plug, you will not need marshmellow as per the video, you simply take a plastic protective cup which covers the candy plug off.
